Mission Control

Mission Control View Modes

Mission Control shows the same bookings in up to 12 views, from status columns you drag cards through to a run sheet with every note opened out. Pick the view that matches the work in front of you.

Updated 27 September 2026 - 16 min read

Every view shows the bookings for the date or week at the top, and the search box and Filter work the same in all of them. Some views appear only when the day has matching bookings.

Switch views, or hide the ones you do not use

Mission Control remembers the last view you chose in this browser, so you only switch when the work changes.

  1. Open Mission Control.
  2. Select a view in the toolbar.
  3. To hide a view, open the Day or Week menu beside the date and switch the view off under Views. Switch it on again to bring it back.
  4. To reorder the toolbar, drag the views into order under Views.

You cannot hide the last view that is still on. Hidden views stay hidden until you show them again. On a phone, select View in the bottom bar to open Select View, then choose a view. Grid is not offered there.

List

List shows every booking as a row, grouped by Appointment status unless you change it. It suits a business with a mix of services, and scanning the whole day at once.

Each row shows the pets, with their breeds, the services, the time and the status. Its Manage menu offers what fits the booking's status: View Appointment (View Course for a course session), Show in Calendar, Accept Appointment, Check In, Check Out, Undo Check In, Undo Check Out, Quick Charge, Cancel Appointment, Edit Appointment and View Pet Profile.

Group and sort the list

Group the list by what you are working through, such as the status for check-ins, the team member for sharing out work, or the resource for rooms.

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the List view.
  2. Select Group by and choose a grouping. Choose a second one to group inside the first.
  3. To change their order, use the arrows beside each one under Active Groupings.
  4. To sort inside each group, open Options and choose under Sort By.
GroupingHow it groups
Appointment statusBy the booking's status, such as Pending, Confirmed or Paid
Start timeBy the hour the booking starts, such as 8:00am and 9:00am
Team MemberBy team member, with Unassigned for bookings with none
ResourceBy resource, with No Resource for bookings with none
Service and Service CategoryBy the service, or its category
CourseBy course
Internal notesHas Internal Notes first, then No Internal Notes
WeekdayBy day. Week view only

Sort By offers Arrival Time, Pet Name, Service Name, Stay Duration, Course Session and Internal Notes. Mission Control remembers the grouping for each view separately, and the sort order for all of them. Group by is on the List, Pets, Run Sheet, Photos, Roster, Stays and Courses views.

Workflow

Workflow puts each booking in the column for its status, and you move it along by dragging. It suits a busy day with many check-ins and check-outs, and a tablet at the front desk.

ColumnWhat sits in it
PendingBookings waiting for you to accept. Shows only while something is pending
ConfirmedConfirmed bookings waiting to start
Stay ArrivalsStay guests arriving. Shows only while stays are active
In ProgressBookings under way
Stay DeparturesStay guests due to leave. Shows only while stays are active
Complete & waitingBookings that auto-complete has finished. Shows only when it holds something
Ready to PayBookings checked out with the invoice waiting, including Payment Declined
Checked out & PaidPaid bookings, including refunded and void invoices

Each column's badge counts pets, not bookings. There is no column named Ready for Pickup; Ready to Pay is the payment column.

Move a booking through the day

Drag a card one column to the right as the pet arrives, finishes and pays.

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the Workflow view.
  2. Switch off Drag Lock in the toolbar. It is on by default so cards cannot move by accident.
  3. Drag the card to a later column and release it.

Each drop runs the real action rather than only relabelling the card: Confirmed accepts the booking, In Progress checks the pet in, Ready to Pay checks it out, and Checked out & Paid takes the payment. A card cannot be dropped into Complete & waiting, which only auto-complete fills, but its cards drag on to Ready to Pay. The two stay columns show who is arriving and leaving, and cards cannot be dragged into or out of them. On a phone or tablet, touch and hold a card for a moment before you drag it.

Cards only move forward. If you drop a card into Ready to Pay by mistake, select it and choose Undo Check Out, which sends it back to the status it held before check-out. Undo Check In takes a booking from In Progress back to Confirmed. See I dragged an appointment to Ready to Pay by mistake.

Select a card to open Quick Actions, where the entries follow the card's status, such as Check In, Check Out, Quick Charge Card, Notify Ready for Pick-Up, Edit Appointment and View Pet Profile.

With Drag Lock off, the toolbar shows an open lock and Express Drag. When Express Drag is on, dragging a booking to Checked out & Paid charges the card on file straight away with no payment review. Express Drag switches itself off when you close the tab. Keep Drag Lock on while you are only looking, and switch it back on when you finish moving cards.

Workflow dragging changes the status, never the time. To move a booking to another time or date, drag it on the Appointments calendar, which changes the time and not the status.

Run Sheet

Run Sheet shows the same cards as Pets with every note opened out underneath, grouped by start time. Each card carries Internal Notes, which the owner never sees, Customer Notes, which they do, and Pet Owner Instructions, typed by the owner when they booked, plus up to six form answers with the rest behind an expand.

Check a pet in from the run sheet

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the Run Sheet view.
  2. On the pet's card, open Manage and select Check In.
  3. Select the notes on a card to open them in full.

Manage offers what fits the booking's status, such as Check In, Check Out, Notify Ready and Quick Charge, alongside View Appointment, Edit Appointment and View Pet Profile. To print the day, select Actions, then Print Day Run Sheet, from the compressed header. Choose One card per page or Compressed, and Include cover or No cover, then select Print.

Pets

Pets shows one card per booking with the pet first, grouped by start time. It suits daycare, training and any business that thinks in terms of which dogs are coming rather than which appointments. Each card shows the pet's photo, name and breed, the owner, the service, the time and the status, and Card content under Options sets what the cards show. Select a card to open Quick Actions.

Photos

Photos shows each booking as a large pet photo tile with the pet's and owner's names, grouped by start time. Point at a tile to see the service, time, status and breed, and select it to open Quick Actions. It suits check-ins and handovers where recognising the pet matters.

Stays

Stays lists only the stays active on the selected date, using the List view's rows, grouped by Resource unless you change it. It appears only when a stay is active on that date.

Each stay's badge gives its place in the stay:

BadgeWhen
3 nights • Check-in TodayThe pet arrives today (green)
Day 2 of 5 • StayThe pet is part way through
3 nights • Check-out TodayThe pet leaves today (amber)

Use it each morning to check who is arriving and leaving, and with the week to see the guests across the week. The Active Stays Now card in the sidebar shows the same guests at a glance.

Team Members, Resources and Resources & Team

This view puts bookings in columns by who or what is doing them. Its tab reads Team Members, Resources or Resources & Team, depending on what the day's bookings have assigned, and it appears only when bookings have a team member or resource.

Each column is headed by the name and a count of pets. Bookings with no team member or resource sit in Unassigned, the last column. A booking whose services have different team members or resources shows the part assigned to each column, and a booking with more than one resource appears once for each resource.

TabColumns, in order
Team MembersOne per team member, then Unassigned
ResourcesOne per resource, then Unassigned
Resources & TeamShared columns for each team member and resource pair, such as Sarah + Grooming Station 2, then team members, then resources, then Unassigned

On Resources & Team, a booking with both a team member and a resource sits in the shared column for that pair, not in the team member's or the resource's own column, so the column name says who is doing the work and where. Every team member, resource and pair gets a column, so this view needs a wide screen or a tablet in landscape.

Reassign a booking between columns

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the Team Members, Resources or Resources & Team view.
  2. Switch off Drag Lock in the toolbar.
  3. Drag the card to another team member's or resource's column.

Dropping on a team member's column changes the team member and keeps the resources, and dropping on a resource's column changes the resource and keeps the team member. Select a card instead to open Quick Actions.

Split grooming teams

In a grooming business where team members have different roles, this view shows each person's work side by side. Grooming assistants typically handle bathing, drying, brushing, nails, paw pads, hygiene and desheds, and groomers handle clipping, scissoring, styling, difficult or aggressive dogs, and puppy first grooms.

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the Team Members view.
  2. Read each column to see what that person is working on.
  3. Look for the dogs with special needs that only certain team members can handle.

Two columns means you have help that day, and the columns show where to plan handovers from assistant to groomer. For the grooming board with a timeline, use Appointments with Group By set to Team Members in Timeline View.

Roster

Roster shows a row for each team member and resource, with a row for bookings with neither, and the pets on each session as named faces by start time. It groups by Team Members & Resources unless you choose Start time, Team Member or Resource under Group by, one at a time. With Drag Lock off, drag a pet onto another row to reassign it; a regular timed booking also takes that row's start time.

Grid

Grid shows one tile per team member and resource, each with a stack of pet photos, a breakdown of statuses and capacity. Point at a tile to list the pets and breeds, and select it to see that team member's or resource's appointments. It appears when bookings have team members or resources, and not on phones or narrow windows.

Services

Services puts bookings in a column for each service, with Unassigned for any without one. Select a card to open Quick Actions.

Spotlight

Spotlight groups the day's bookings into swimlanes for the queues you work through, such as Extra Special Care, Special Care, Late to Arrive, Late to Finish, No Card on File, First Visit, Package Depleted, Has Add-ons, Customer Notes, Photos & Notes to Send and Birthday. Empty swimlanes stay hidden, and a booking can appear in more than one.

With the Communications Booster, or on Enterprise, Spotlight also shows Report Cards to Send and Report Cards Sent. These list only finished visits that have customer-visible notes or photos.

Send the report cards

  1. Open Mission Control and choose the Spotlight view.
  2. Under Report Cards to Send, select Bulk Send.
  3. Under Mobile on File, tick the visits to send, or select Select All.
  4. Select Send report card, or Send and the number of cards when you send more than one.

Each pet owner gets a text with a link to their pet's report card in the pet owner portal. A visit whose owner has no mobile number cannot be sent this way. Photos & Notes to Send has its own Bulk Send. For sending, previewing and printing a single report card, see Report Cards.

Courses

Courses shows only course bookings, grouped by course, on the same cards as Pets. It appears while course sessions are in view.

A typical day starts on List or Pets to see what is coming, moves to Workflow to check pets in and out, uses Team Members to share out the work, and ends on List for a last review. For payments, use List grouped by Appointment status, or filter to Ready to Pay.

Views with filters, search and the week

Every view works with Filter, search and week view. Workflow filtered to Confirmed shows only the bookings still to start, Pets filtered under Pets with Special Needs to High Severity shows the pets that need the most care, and Team Members or Resources filtered to one team member or resource shows just their day. Search finds bookings by the owner's name, the pet's name or a word in the notes, so searching "Bella" in Workflow shows Bella in her current column.

In week view, every view shows the whole week, such as Workflow across all its days or Stays with the guests arriving and leaving across the week. The weekday buttons narrow it to the days you want.

What Mission Control remembers

In the browser you use, Mission Control remembers your last view, the views you hid and their order, the grouping for each view, the sort order and whether Drag Lock is on. A private or incognito window keeps none of it.

Troubleshooting

A view that used to be in the toolbar is missing

Open the Day or Week menu beside the date and switch that view back on under Views.

I don't see Stays

Stays appears only when a stay is active on the selected date. If a stay is active and it is still missing, switch Stays on under Views in the Day or Week menu.

Resources & Team is too cramped on my screen

Every team member, resource and pair gets its own column, so this view needs a wide screen. Scroll sideways to see more columns, filter to one team member or resource, or use a larger screen.

Drag and drop isn't working

Check that Drag Lock is off: the toolbar shows an open lock. Dragging while it is on makes the lock flash instead. On a phone or tablet, touch and hold the card before you drag.

My view keeps resetting

Mission Control saves your last view in this browser. Private or incognito windows do not keep it.

Can I use Workflow on a phone?

Yes. Switch off Drag Lock, then touch and hold a card before you drag it to the next column.

Why do some bookings appear twice in Resources & Team?

When a booking's services have different team members or resources, each column shows the part assigned to it. A booking with more than one resource appears once for each resource. A booking with both a team member and a resource sits in the shared column for that pair, such as Sarah + Grooming Station 2, not in the team member's or the resource's own column.

Can I customise the columns in Workflow?

No. The columns follow the booking statuses and cannot be changed.

Which view is fastest?

It depends on the task: List for browsing, Workflow for status changes, Pets for finding a pet, and Team Members for sharing out work.
