Weekly Wrap

Every Friday at 4pm, business time, Petboost emails each Owner Admin a summary of the week: what you earned, how many customers booked themselves, the time Petboost saved you and what is booked for next week. The same weeks are on the Weekly Wrap tab in Reporting & Intelligence.

The Weekly Wrap is an email Petboost sends every Friday at 4pm, business time. It sums up your week: what you earned, how many customers booked themselves, the time Petboost saved you, and what is already booked for next week. The same numbers are on the Weekly Wrap tab in Reporting & Intelligence, one week at a time.

The email is being switched on business by business. If you do not get one on a Friday, ask us in chat. The Weekly Wrap tab is there for every business.

Who gets the email

Petboost emails every Owner Admin on your account, one email each, greeted by first name. An Owner Admin of several locations gets one email per location. Two Owner Admins who share an email address get one email between them.

If your account has no Owner Admin user, the email goes to your business email address. Admins, Service Performers and Service Supporters do not get it.

Petboost does not send the email when this week and the week before both had no appointments and no online bookings. That week is still saved on the tab.

In your first week on Petboost, you get a shorter first-week email in place of the full wrap.

The week it covers

Each wrap covers seven days, from Friday 4pm to the next Friday 4pm, business time. The Friday email includes that Friday up to 4pm and the whole weekend before it. Each week is named by the Friday it ends on.

Because the week runs Friday to Friday, its earnings will not match the Financial tab's calendar week to the cent. For your accounts, use the Financial tab.

What the wrap counts

The wrap is made up of these blocks, in this order:

  • Earnings: what this week's visits earned at their booked total, once finished, plus packages, retail sales and membership payments taken in the week. Cancelled visits are left out.
  • Booked online: how many of the bookings made this week customers made themselves, and what they are worth. Only bookings a customer made through your booking page count. A booking your team made, or a visit created from a recurring series, does not.
  • After hours: how many of those online bookings were made while you were closed. Closed means outside your opening hours. If you have not set opening hours, Petboost uses 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and the email says so.
  • Time saved: the tasks Petboost did for you this week, each with a count and the minutes it saved. See How time saved is worked out.
  • Pets and New customers: how many different pets were booked in this week, customer accounts created this week, and customers who had their first finished visit this week.
  • Add-ons: how many visits had extras, what the extras earned, and how many extras customers added themselves.
  • Recovered: customers Petboost nudged about an unfinished booking who then booked within 7 days, and what those bookings are worth.
  • Texts: texts Petboost sent automatically, texts your team sent, and the SMS credits they used.
  • Missed: no-shows, late cancellations, and regulars who are due back and have not booked.
  • Getting paid: Owed to you on finished visits and payment links still out, how quickly card on file payments came in, and deposits, card holds and cancellation fees under Protected.
  • Next week: bookings already on the books for the next seven days, any days with room, and one thing to do.

A block with nothing to show this week is left out of the email. Report cards, forms and agreements, Call Catcher calls and memberships each appear only in a week they have something to count.

Comparisons

Earnings and pets are compared with your 4-week average, last week, and the same week last year. A comparison is left out when either week had fewer than five appointments, or when the earlier week starts before your first appointment on Petboost. With none to show, the wrap says there is no comparison yet.

The share booked online and the share booked after hours are left out when there were fewer than five bookings to divide.

How time saved is worked out

Each count is a real task Petboost did this week. Each task is multiplied by a fixed estimate of the minutes it would take you by hand, and the total is the sum. The minutes are estimates, not a measurement of your own time.

Task Petboost didMinutes each
Took a booking online instead of by phone or message8
Sent a booking reminder2
Charged a card on file automatically5
Got a payment link paid3
Nudged an unfinished booking3
Collected a form online5
Collected a signed agreement3
Answered a call while you were busy4
Sent a due-back rebooking reminder2
Created a recurring booking for you2
Sent a vaccination or card expiry reminder2

A task with no count this week is not listed. The email leaves out the whole time saved block in a week under 15 minutes.

See past weeks

The Weekly Wrap tab holds the same weeks as the emails, so a number on the tab matches the email for that week. When the Weekly Wrap starts for your business, Petboost fills in your previous 12 weeks.

  1. Open Reporting & Intelligence.
  2. Select Weekly Wrap.
  3. Choose the week by the Friday it ends on.

The week in progress shows the numbers so far. They are complete once that Friday's wrap is built at 4pm. The link at the bottom of each email opens the tab on that week.

Turn the email on or off

The email is on by default.

  1. Open Notifications.
  2. If Weekly Wrap is not on screen, switch on Advanced options, or type "weekly wrap" in the search box.
  3. Under Weekly Wrap, switch Email you: Weekly Wrap on or off.
  4. Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.

The switch covers the whole business, so turning it off stops the email for every Owner Admin. The tab keeps every week either way.
