A 5-pack of dog walks is a typical package: the customer pays once, the credits sit on their account, and each booking of a service the package covers uses one credit. Eligible pets under the same customer account share the balance at one credit per pet per visit.
Packages suit recurring services such as grooming, walking and daycare, and regular customers who book often. Prepaid packages can make up over 60% of a dog daycare's revenue. Each purchase shows on the customer's Packages tab as a card of stamps, one per credit, so you can see at a glance what is left.
Create a package
The wizard has four steps, and nothing is created until the last one.
- Open Packages, select Add New, then New Package.
- On Basic Info, enter the Package Name. Description and Package Image are optional.
- On Services & Quantity, choose the Services the credits can be spent on, then choose Shared pool or Per service under Credit Allocation.
- Set Number of Sessions for a shared pool, or a number under Credits Per Service for each service.
- On Pricing & Settings, enter the Package Price and check Customer Savings.
- Under Allow Pet Owners to self-service purchase?, choose Yes - publish for purchasing or No - keep this hidden.
- Optional: switch on Minimum pets to sell the package only to households with that many pets.
- On Review & Publish, check the Summary, then select Create Package.
To copy an existing package, for example a 5-pack from your 10-pack, select Clone from another package on Basic Info, choose the package and select Pre-fill Form with Selected. The wizard reopens as Clone Package with the name ending in (Copy). Change the quantity, price and name, then create it as usual.
Tip
Name the package for what it holds and how many, such as "10-Session Puppy Training Pack" or "5x Private Walk Package".
What Customer Savings shows
Customer Savings compares the package with booking the same sessions one at a time. It shows the Regular Price crossed out, the Package Price, a Price Breakdown of each service, Customer Saves as an amount and a percentage, and the savings per session. It appears for a shared pool only.
For example, a $30 service sold as 5 sessions for $125 shows a Regular Price of $150, Customer Saves $25 (17% off) and $5 savings per session. The Tip under the card suggests a price 10% below the regular price.
Who can buy it
Yes - publish for purchasing puts the package on your booking page, where customers can buy it themselves and pay by card, and the credits go on their account straight away. No - keep this hidden keeps it for your team to sell, from the customer's profile or while booking, which suits a promotional or VIP offer you only give to some customers. On Calendar Lite, packages are staff-managed only.
You can change this later in the package's Settings, where it is called Self-Service Purchase.
Find and open a package
Packages lists your packages as cards, each with its credits, Price and a Purchase badge that reads Self-Service or Staff Only.
- Open Packages.
- To find a package, type in the search box. It matches the package name, the description and the names of the services in the package.
- To see archived packages, open Filters and choose Archived under Status.
- Select Manage on the package.
Change the order customers see
Reorder sets the order packages appear in on your booking page. Sort & Group only changes your own view of the list.
- Open Packages, open the settings menu and select Reorder.
- Drag the packages into place.
- Select Done.
The same settings menu is on Services and on Memberships > Plans.
Change a package
A change to a package applies to new purchases only. Customers who already bought it keep the credits, services and price they were sold.
- Open Packages and select Manage on the package.
- Choose Basic Info, Services or Settings. On a section, Jump to moves between them.
- Make the change. It waits in Pending Changes at the foot of the page.
- Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.
Basic Info holds the name, description, image, Package Price and Credit Allocation, with Customer Savings under the price. Services holds the services the credits can be spent on. Settings holds Self-Service Purchase and Minimum pets. Discard Changes drops everything still pending.
The package summary
Beside the sections, Package Summary shows the package's Price, Credits, Services and Purchase, and lists its Included Services. It also holds Share Purchase Link, the link a customer can buy from once the package is self-service, Clone This Package, Make the 2-dog version and Archive Package. On a narrow screen these sit under Share purchase link & details.
