Video Booster is switched on business by business. If you do not see it in Petboost, ask us in chat.
Video Booster is a paid power-up for video in three places. Every video you add counts against one pool, which is how much video your business holds at once:
- Clips on an appointment. The pet owner sees them on the report card, in their visit journal, on their Photos page and on the pet's timeline.
- A video on each service. It shows on the service tile in your online booking and on your Showcase page.
- A video on each course lesson. Pet owners enrolled in the course see it with the lesson notes.
Inline, a video plays silently on a loop. Tapping it opens the full player with sound. Pet owners do not pay anything to watch.
Appointment clips are private: only your business and that pet's owner can play them.
What each plan includes
Video Booster comes in two sizes. Plan & Power-Ups shows the current price of each.
| Video Booster | Video Booster Max | |
|---|---|---|
| Video held at once | 15 hours (900 minutes) | 40 hours (2,400 minutes) |
| Appointment clips | Up to 20 seconds, kept 90 days | Up to 60 seconds, never expire |
| Service videos | Up to 60 seconds | Up to 3 minutes |
| Course lesson videos | Up to 10 minutes | Up to 30 minutes |
Video Booster needs a Business Pro, Flex, Max or Enterprise plan. It is not available on Calendar Lite or during a free trial. On Enterprise it is billed per location, and each location has its own pool. Our team turns it on and off for Enterprise accounts: select Message us to activate.
More hours can be added in recurring packs of 10 hours: on the Video Booster card select Manage, then under EXTRA HOURS choose how many packs and select Save. Packs renew with your subscription until you remove them. On Enterprise, ask us in chat.
Activate Video Booster
Owners and admins can activate it. Other team members see Ask your account owner to activate Video Booster.
- Open Billing and choose Plan & Power-Ups.
- On the Video Booster card, select Activate.
- Choose Video Booster or Video Booster Max, then select Activate Video Booster or Activate Video Booster Max.
The days left in your billing cycle are charged on the day you activate it. To change size later, select Manage on the card, choose the other size under PLAN, then select Switch to Video Booster Max or Switch to Video Booster.
Add a clip to an appointment
Clips go with the customer-facing photos, so they appear on the report card.
- Open Appointments and select the booking.
- Open Notes & Attachments and stay on From your business.
- Under Customer-facing Photos & Attachments, add the clip the same way you add a photo.
- Under Notify customer?, choose Email, SMS or Do silently, then select Publish Changes.
A clip longer than your plan allows is refused when you upload it. If your browser cannot read the clip's length first (some iPhone videos on a computer), the clip uploads and then shows This video could not be processed: trim it and add it again. While a clip is processing, it shows Processing video.
Add a video to a service
- Open Services, select Manage on the service, then Manage Service.
- Choose Basic Info and switch on Advanced options.
- Under Listing Details, in Service Video, choose Upload a video and add the video.
- Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.
To keep using a YouTube or Vimeo link, choose Link a video and paste it. A link works the same way it always has and does not use your pool.
Add a video to a course lesson
- Open Courses, select Manage on the course template, then Manage Template.
- Choose Lesson Details.
- Select Lesson-specific Notes and open a session.
- Under Customer-facing Photos & Attachments, add the video.
- Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.
Pet owners enrolled in a course published from the template see the video with that lesson's notes.
Free up minutes
Deleting a video gives its minutes back to the pool and removes it everywhere it showed, including what pet owners see. It cannot be undone.
- Open Billing and choose Plan & Power-Ups.
- On the Video Booster card, select Manage.
- Under YOUR VIDEOS, select the bin icon on the video.
- In Delete this video?, select Delete video.
YOUR VIDEOS shows how many minutes you hold out of your pool, and each video's kind, length, the date it was added and, for a clip, the date it is kept until.
Turn Video Booster off
- Open Billing and choose Plan & Power-Ups.
- On the Video Booster card, select Manage, then Turn off.
The videos you already have stay where they are, and you cannot add new ones. Appointment clips then follow the 90-day rule: a clip older than 90 days is removed, and a clip that was set never to expire is kept for at least 30 more days.
