Mobile App Experience Overview

Petboost runs in the browser on your phone or tablet, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store.

Petboost is built mobile-first. The version on your phone or tablet is the same app as the one on your computer, so the screens you use at the desk are there on your phone too.

An app without the app store

Petboost is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Added to your home screen, it:

  • Opens full screen, with no browser bars
  • Launches with one tap from its own icon, named Petboost Business
  • Updates itself: when a new version is out, a New Version button appears, and selecting it loads the new version. Petboost also updates the next time you open it after closing it
  • Keeps its own files on your device so it opens quickly. Your appointments and customers load over the internet, so it needs a connection

Petboost is not in the App Store or on Google Play. A change is ready on every device as soon as it is released, with no app store review and nothing to update by hand, and the same app runs on phones, tablets and computers.

What you can do on a phone or tablet

Everything you do on a computer, including:

  • Viewing and managing today's appointments, and checking pets in and out
  • Taking payments and sending invoices
  • Viewing customer and pet profiles, and sending messages
  • Creating, rescheduling and cancelling appointments, including walk-ins, in any calendar view
  • Managing team member schedules and availability
  • Setting up services, pricing and automations
  • Viewing reports and changing settings

Devices and browsers

Petboost works on:

  • iPhone and iPad: Safari recommended, Chrome supported
  • Android phones and Android tablets: Chrome recommended, Samsung Internet supported

Add Petboost to your home screen

Add it once on each device you use.

  1. Open business.petboost.com in Safari on an iPhone or iPad, or in Chrome on Android, and sign in.
  2. In Safari, tap the share button at the bottom of the screen. In Chrome, tap the three dots at the top right.
  3. In Safari, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add. In Chrome, tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Open Petboost from the new icon rather than from a bookmark.
