Add Petboost to Your Home Screen

Petboost is a mobile web app, so you add it from your browser instead of the App Store or Google Play. Opened from its icon, it runs full screen with no address bar, launches with one tap, and is the same app you use on a computer. Add Petboost on an iPhone or iPad with Safari

Safari is the recommended browser on Apple devices.

1. Open business.petboost.com in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the share button, the square with an arrow pointing up.
3. Scroll down the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Optional: change the name, which starts as Petboost Business.
5. Tap Add.

The Petboost icon appears on your home screen. Tap it to open Petboost full screen.

Add Petboost on an iPhone or iPad with Chrome

1. Open business.petboost.com in Chrome and sign in.
2. Tap the three dots to open the Chrome menu.
3. Scroll down the menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

The Petboost icon appears on your home screen.

Add Petboost on Android with Chrome

Chrome is the recommended browser on Android.

1. Open business.petboost.com in Chrome and sign in.
2. Tap the three dots to open the Chrome menu.
3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
4. Tap Install or Add to confirm.

The Petboost icon appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

Add Petboost with Samsung Internet

1. Open business.petboost.com in Samsung Internet, the purple planet icon, and sign in.
2. Tap the menu button to open the browser menu.
3. Tap Add page to, then Home screen.
4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

The Petboost icon appears on your home screen.

Get out of the Instagram or Facebook browser

A link opened inside an app such as Instagram, Facebook or TikTok opens in that app's own browser, whose menu has no Add to Home Screen. Signing in there goes round in a circle, so when you try, Petboost shows Almost there... instead.

1. On the Almost there... screen, press and hold the button.
2. Tap Open Link to reopen the same address in Safari or Chrome.
3. If the hold does nothing, select Or copy link manually, then paste the address into your own browser.

Once Petboost is open in your own browser, add it to your home screen as above and the problem stops happening.

The full-screen experience

Opened from its icon, Petboost runs full screen:

• No browser address bar, which leaves more of the screen for your business
• No browser navigation buttons. Swipe to go back
• Its own icon, easy to find among your apps

Open Petboost from the icon each time. A bookmark opens it in the browser with the address bar showing.

Updates

Petboost updates without an app store. When a new version is out, a New Version button appears, and selecting it loads the new version. Otherwise the update loads the next time you open Petboost after closing it. Fixes reach you without waiting for an app store review, and there is nothing to update by hand.

Petboost keeps its own files on your device, so it takes up little storage and opens quickly. Your appointments and customers load over the internet, so it needs a connection.

Use Petboost on several devices

Add Petboost to each device you use, such as your phone for managing on the go, a tablet for a larger calendar, and a reception iPad for check-in and check-out. Every device works from the same account. A booking made on your phone shows on the tablet the next time the tablet's calendar loads.

Tips for mobile use

• Swipe from the left edge to go back on an iPhone or iPad, or use the back button on Android
• Mission Control is designed for a phone and lists the day's appointments
• Find Pet, under Quick Actions, finds a customer or pet
• Petboost does not send notifications to the app. Alerts about new bookings come by email or text; see Business Communications

Troubleshooting

Add to Home Screen is not in the menu

• In Safari, the option is in the share menu. Scroll down to find it
• In Chrome on Android, if you do not see Install app, look for Add to Home screen. Visit Petboost and sign in first
• If you opened the link from Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, you are in that app's browser. Get out of it first, as above

Petboost opens in the browser instead of full screen

This happens when you open it from a bookmark instead of the home screen icon, or when the icon was not added correctly.

1. Remove the current shortcut or icon.
2. Add Petboost to your home screen again, as above.
3. Tap the new icon, not a bookmark.

Content is not loading

• Check your internet connection
• Close Petboost and open it again
• Sign out and sign back in if the problem continues

The icon looks wrong or is missing

1. Remove the home screen shortcut.
2. Clear your browser cache.
3. Visit business.petboost.com again.
4. Add Petboost to your home screen again.
