Emergency Contacts

Each pet owner profile can hold a vet or clinic and a second pet parent phone. Your team sees them on the profile and on every appointment, with buttons to call.

The details sit on the pet owner summary card and the pet summary card, so your team can reach the right person quickly when it matters. Every field is optional.

What gets stored

Emergency contact details are part of the pet owner profile, in two parts:

  • The vet or clinic: Vet/Clinic Name, a search field that looks up businesses by name, and Vet Contact Phone
  • A second phone: Second pet parent phone, a number for someone else in the household, such as a partner, a family member or a workplace, and How to label this number, a free-text label for who it belongs to, such as Partner or Work

The second pet parent can log in, book and receive updates with their number. They sign in with their own phone and a one-time code, and they share the same pet profile. Petboost does not create a second account.

Add or change the vet

  1. Open Customers & Pets and select Manage on one of the owner's pets.
  2. Open Manage Owner and select Edit Owner Details.
  3. Under Emergency Contact Details, type the vet or clinic's name in Vet/Clinic Name and select it from the results. Petboost fills in Vet Contact Phone from the result, and you can change it.
  4. Select Save Owner Details.

Add a second pet parent phone

  1. Open Customers & Pets and select Manage on one of the owner's pets.
  2. Open Manage Owner and select Edit Owner Details.
  3. Enter the number in Second pet parent phone.
  4. Optional: fill in How to label this number, such as "Partner" or "Work", so your team knows who they are calling.
  5. Select Save Owner Details.

When you add a new customer, the same fields sit under Add Additional Details.

Where emergency contacts appear

On an appointment

Open the appointment and expand Emergency Contacts. The same section is in the contact panel on Messages. It shows:

  • Vet: the vet or clinic name, with a Call Vet button
  • Backup Contact: the Second pet parent phone, with a Call Contact button

The section does not appear when neither is set.

On the customer profile

The Emergency Contact section on the summary card shows the vet or clinic name and number. Select the number to copy it. If no vet is set, it shows Not set with an Add button that opens Edit Owner Details.

The second pet parent phone shows on Pet & Owner Details, in the Contact Details card, under its label, or under Second pet parent phone when it has none.

On a phone

On a phone, the owner information tile shows a short emergency contact line with the vet details.

Tip

Check emergency contacts when a customer first joins, so they are there before you need them.
