Use TV View to show the day on a large screen in your business. It shows who is here, who is starting soon, who is finishing soon and what just changed. It only displays information: nobody can check a pet in or change a booking from the TV.
What you need
- A TV connected by HDMI to a laptop or mini PC. A smart TV's own browser may not run full screen or stay awake, so test it before you rely on it.
- A Petboost login for that computer. The screen stays signed in as the person who opened it, so use a staff login with no more access than the screen needs.
Start TV View
- On the computer connected to the TV, sign in to Petboost at Mission Control.
- Open the account menu: your business name or logo at the top of the sidebar.
- Under Quick Copy Links, select TV View.
- Select the size of your TV in inches. Petboost uses it to set the text size for reading from 10 metres.
- Select Start TV View.
If the screen says This TV may go to sleep, turn off sleep in the TV's or computer's settings.
What shows on the board
| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Today | How many pets are to come, here now and done |
| Now | Pets being looked after, with who has them and when they finish |
| Starting soon | Pets starting in the next 90 minutes |
| Finishing soon | Pets finishing in the next 90 minutes, including stays leaving today |
| The day | The day across the hours, one lane per team member or room. Off until you turn it on |
| Latest | New online bookings, requests, moves, cancellations, forms, messages and packs |
When a panel holds more than fits, it changes page every 10 seconds and shows which page it is on.
Prices, payments, notes, phone numbers and the words of a message never show on the board.
Change what shows
Move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard or remote to show the toolbar. It hides again after 8 seconds.
- Panels shows or hides each panel.
- Group by groups pets by team member, room or service. It appears when today has more than one of them.
- TV size changes the text size.
- Customers can see this screen is on by default. Turn it off on a screen in a staff-only area to add owner surnames and care labels.
Each screen remembers its own choices.
Exit TV View
Select Exit on the toolbar, then Exit TV View. You stay signed in. You can also press Esc on a keyboard. Either one returns you to Mission Control.
If the board looks out of date
The board updates by itself. If it loses contact with Petboost for more than 3 minutes, a line at the top says when it was last up to date. Check the internet connection on the computer.
If the login expires, the screen goes to the login page. Sign in again and open TV View.
