Reporting & Intelligence

Services Tab

The Services tab in Reporting & Intelligence analyses how each service performs: which earn the most, which are booked most often, how well they use time, and where pricing opportunities are.

Service names in the tab link to their service detail page, so you can act on what you find.

Review service performance

Do this to compare your services over a period.

  1. Open Reporting & Intelligence and choose Services.
  2. Choose the period in the date range picker at the top of the page.
  3. Read the key metrics, then Service Performance, Revenue Trend, Category Breakdown and Service Details.

Key metrics

MetricWhat it shows
Total RevenueCombined revenue from all services
Total AppointmentsTotal service bookings
Average ValueAverage revenue per appointment
Most PopularYour most-booked service, shown with its image and appointment count

On a narrow screen the middle two read Appointments and Avg Value.

Service Performance

A bubble chart that plots each service on two axes:

  • X-axis: revenue generated
  • Y-axis: appointment count
  • Bubble size: overall impact (revenue multiplied by appointments)
  • Colour: service category, using your configured category colours

Services in the top right are your strongest performers (high revenue and high demand). Services in the bottom left may need promotion or a pricing review. Hovering over a bubble shows the service name, revenue, appointment count and average value, and the legend at the bottom shows every service category.

Revenue Trend

An area chart of daily revenue from services. It supports comparison (a dashed grey overlay) and forecast (a dashed violet projection) when they are on, with dotted vertical lines and background tints separating each period.

Category Breakdown

A summary card showing how your service categories perform. It appears only when you have two or more service categories, sorted by revenue with the highest first. Each category row shows:

  • The category name and a service count badge
  • Total appointments and total revenue
  • The average value per appointment and the revenue per hour
  • A progress bar of the category's share of total revenue
  • The revenue percentage

Service Details

A table that lists every service:

ColumnWhat it shows
ServiceService name with its image
CategoryService category with your configured category colours
RevenueTotal revenue, with a trend badge showing the percentage change (green for growth, red for decline) when the change exceeds 10%
ApptsTotal appointment count
Avg ValueAverage revenue per appointment
DurationAverage duration, in minutes, or hours and minutes for longer services
Rev/HrRevenue per hour, a key efficiency metric calculated from revenue, appointment count and average duration

On smaller screens, the Duration and Rev/Hr columns are hidden to fit the layout.

Insight cards

The Services tab generates the largest set of insight cards of any tab, with up to 11 types. Each card leads with its finding, and How is this calculated? on the card shows the name used here and the working behind it. Where a card names a service, its action reads View and the service name, and opens that service.

  • Service Efficiency: compares revenue per hour (revenue divided by time) across services and highlights the most and least profitable per hour, with View actions for both. When the gap between them exceeds 2x, it suggests giving the more profitable service your peak slots.
  • Trending Up Service: a service whose revenue grew 15% or more from the first half of the period to the second, with its name, growth percentage, revenue and booking count. Includes a View action.
  • Trending Down Service: a service whose revenue fell 15% or more, with its name, decline percentage and context. Includes a View action and suggests checking pricing, availability or demand.
  • Pricing Opportunity: flags when revenue per hour varies widely across services (a best-to-worst ratio of 1.8x or more). It calculates a target price for the underpriced service and estimates the monthly revenue lift from adjusting it. Its View action opens the underpriced service.
  • Duration vs Price Mismatch: flags services that take much longer than average (130% or more) but are priced at or below average (110% or less), and suggests time-based or breed-based pricing.
  • Low Volume, High Value: premium services with a high value per appointment (140% or more of average) but few bookings (under 60% of average), with the potential revenue uplift from promoting them.
  • High Volume, Low Value: popular services with many bookings (130% or more of average) but a low value per appointment (under 70% of average). It calculates the potential add-on revenue at a 30% attach rate and suggests optional extras or upsells.
  • Revenue Concentration: warns when your top two services make up 60% or more of total revenue. If the top service also earns more per hour than the second, it suggests giving the top service your peak slots. Includes a View action.
  • Service Category Mix: how your revenue spreads across service categories. It warns when one category makes up 80% or more of revenue and suggests building secondary categories.
  • Revenue Per Hour Ranking: your top three services by revenue per hour, when you have three or more services with at least three bookings each.
  • Service Retirement: services with very low activity (one booking or fewer, and revenue well below average) that may be candidates for archiving. It lists up to three, and appears only when you have four or more services.

See who books a service

Service Client Analysis, under Service Details, answers a different question: not how a service performs, but who books it. Use it to build the audience for a campaign about one service, or to see whether a service is carried by a handful of regulars.

  1. Open Reporting & Intelligence and choose Services.
  2. On Service Client Analysis, select Analyse Clients.
  3. Choose the service under Services. You can add more than one.
  4. Under Date range, choose 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, This year or All time, or set From and To yourself.
  5. To download the list, select Export CSV beside Client List.

It lists the clients who book that service with their booking pattern, the days of the week they come and their address and suburb. The export carries owner name, email, phone, address, pet names and breeds, booking count, total and average revenue, days of the week, team members, and their first and last booking.
