One business had 51 active services and clients who said the booking page was too confusing. A menu that long is usually two settings away from a short one.
Read a service row
The services list shows the type, the price, the duration, whether clients can book it themselves, and every rule sitting on it.
- Open Services.
- On the service that will not appear for someone, read the Rules column.
Rules is the column to read. A restriction you set a year ago and forgot is still on that row, and it is the first place to look when a service will not appear for someone.
Tip
Staff Only means clients cannot book it, so it is how you retire a service without deleting its history.
Type first, because you cannot change it later
- Open Services, select Add New, then New Service.
- Enter the Service Name, then choose the Service Type.
- Optional: choose a Category.
- Select Next through the remaining steps, then Create Service.
Pick each type and read its line. The product shows four; Initial is the one people pick by accident.
Trap
Initial means new clients must book this before anything else. That fits an assessment. It does not fit a service you happen to sell first. Existing clients can skip it once you turn the requirement off for them.
Category is optional and only affects how the list groups on your booking page.
An add-on shows with everything until you stop it
A taxi that should only go with full day daycare needs the pairing rule. It is not on Basic Info or Booking Settings, which is where most people look. It is on the service's Who Can Book tab, behind Advanced options, and only add-ons have it.
- Open Services, then Manage on the add-on and Manage Service.
- On Who Can Book, switch on Advanced options.
- Under Add-on Pairing, switch on Only Show With Certain Services and pick the services it goes with.
- Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.
Add-on Pairing has one switch, Only Show With Certain Services, and three outcomes.

Tip
Off is right for nails or a teeth clean. Most add-ons suit any service, which is why the product says so on the switch itself.
