The phone rings with a dog on the table, a lead in each hand, or the van halfway down a driveway. Call Catcher is for that moment. Calls to your Communications Booster number ring your own phone, and one you cannot take is answered for you: a text with your booking link, or a voicemail.
It is a power-up on top of Communications Booster, with its own call minutes, separate from your SMS credits.
Switch it on
Only an owner or admin can activate it. Everyone else sees a line asking for the account owner.
- Open Settings, SMS.
- On the Call Catcher Booster card, select Activate Call Catcher.
- In Get started with Call Catcher, check the monthly price, today's charge and the call minutes included, then select Activate Call Catcher.
- On the card, select Manage calls.
- Under Call Catcher, select Turn on.
Activating does not start ringing your phone on its own: Turn on does. Calls ring the phone on your Business profile, so save one there first. If the card says Call Catcher needs the Communications Booster, select Activate Communications Booster and come back.
Once it is on, Messages becomes Messages & Calls, and everything Call Catcher does is under Calls at the top of that page.
Decide what a missed call gets
When your phone rings, you hear who is calling before you are connected: a client's name with their first pet, or "A new caller" for anyone else. Press 1 to answer. The caller only ever sees your Communications Booster number.
- Open Messages & Calls, select Calls at the top, then Settings.
- Under When nobody answers, turn on Answering menu.
- Turn on Text back a missed call.
- Under When your phone rings, set your hours day by day, then select Save hours.
With the answering menu on, a call nobody takes hears your greeting: press 1 for a text with your booking link, press 2 to leave a voicemail. Outside your hours the greeting answers straight away and your phone stays quiet. A client with a past visit gets a link that opens the booking form with their pet and last service already chosen.
Tip
The standard greeting works, but your own voice is better. Under When nobody answers, select Record greeting by phone and say what pressing 1 and pressing 2 do.
Call back as the business
A voicemail lands in the caller's conversation in Messages, with a player, and Petboost texts your business phone a link to it. To ring back, select Call back in that conversation's actions menu, or use Keypad under Calls. Petboost rings your phone first, then the client, so they see your business number, never your mobile.
The phone menu on your number at the top of every page opens New SMS, New Call, New Bulk Send and Call Opening Hours from anywhere. Reading the log itself is Read the call log and call back.
Check
A call you make uses call minutes twice over, because Petboost connects two phones. The minutes left show on the Call Catcher card under Calls, then Settings.
