Check a walk-in in from Mission Control

Quick Check-in books a walk-in for today, starting now, as a new or an existing customer, and the card lands on the board already started.

Quick Check-in is the walk-in button: one screen that finds or adds the customer, then opens the booking form dated today with the start time already set to now. A counter sale with no booking behind it is Quick Sale in the same menu instead.

  1. Open Mission Control, select Actions, then Quick Check-in. On the expanded header it is the first quick action.
  2. Choose New customer for a dog you have not seen before, or Existing customer to find the pet.
  3. For a new customer, fill in Customer & Pet with the owner and the dog. The booking step opens with that pet already on it.
  4. On Service & Time, choose the service under Services for. The date is today and the start time is the current time, rounded down to five minutes; change either if you need to.
  5. Select Review Before Creation, read what creating it will do, then select Create Past Appointment. When the service takes a deposit from a card on file, the button names the charge instead, as Create & Charge and the amount.

The start time has just passed by the time you save, which is why the form asks you to review it and why the card lands straight in In Progress rather than Confirmed. The booking is an ordinary one from then on: it is checked out, charged and reported like every other visit on the board.

Tip

Selecting Customer on the step rail goes back to the first step and starts the walk-in again, which is quicker than closing the screen when you picked the wrong customer.
