Your subscription to Petboost and the card fees your clients' payments attract are two separate things, billed by two different parties. This lesson is only the first: what you pay us each month.
Almost every "why has my bill changed" question is one of three things. The plan moved, a power-up was added, or a month of messages ran long.
Read the plan card first
The card at the top of Billing carries the answer to most of it: which plan you are on, what it costs a month, and the period the current charge covers.
- Open Billing.
- On the plan card, read the plan, its price a month and the Current billing period.
- Read the green chips under it, one for each power-up billed on top of the plan.
The green chips underneath are the part people miss. Each one is a power-up billed on top of the plan, with its own monthly price.
Check
The billing period runs from your signup date, not from the first of the month. A charge landing on the 8th is not a mistake.
Power-ups are added and cancelled on their own card
The Plan & Power-Ups tab shows every add-on in three states: running, needing a paid plan, or not out yet.
- Open Billing and choose Plan & Power-Ups.
- Under Active Power-Ups, select Manage on the power-up you want to change or cancel.
An active power-up is cancelled from its own Manage button. Changing your plan does not cancel it, which is why a downgrade can still leave a booster on the bill.
Tip
Some power-ups are included at no extra cost on Business Max. The indigo chip on a card tells you which.
Messages are counted by what sent them
On the SMS Usage tab, the usage bar splits the texts your appointments generated by notification type rather than by client, over the last 7, 14, 21 or 28 days.
- Open Billing and choose SMS Usage.
- Next to Period:, choose 7 days, 14 days, 21 days or 28 days.
- Read the bar under By notification type, then select View full breakdown for the counts.
Reminders and booking confirmations are automated and usually the bulk of it. The tab counts only those automated texts, grouped by appointment date. Bulk campaigns and manual inbox messages are not included, so a month that runs long on bulk sends shows on the bill but not on this tab.
Tip
A long message is charged as more than one, so a single 350-character send is three. That is the usual reason a bulk to 200 clients costs more than 200 messages.
