Payments, pricing and profit

A membership that ends on a date

A fixed-term plan bills a set number of payments and then stops on its own. Nobody has to cancel it, and reporting counts it as completed, never as a cancellation.

A six-week puppy programme paid weekly is a membership that should end with the programme, not renew in week seven.

  1. Open Memberships and select Manage on the plan.
  2. Choose Length, Cancelling & Pausing.
  3. Under Length, choose Fixed term, then it ends.
  4. Set the number of payments, such as Number of weekly payments, then choose If a member cancels early.
  5. Select Publish Changes.

The plan card and the terms say how many payments it runs for, and checkout shows the end date before anyone joins. The member gets a heads-up before the last payment, and the finished membership reads Completed. With Pausing adds to the minimum period on, a pause pushes the end back by the payments it skips.

Check

A member's term cannot be extended or turned into an ongoing one. To keep someone going after it ends, enrol them again once it has finished. A last payment still unpaid at the end date ends the membership as Expired, not Completed.
