Take a dollar off one line

An invoice line's discount can be a percentage or an exact amount in dollars. Dollars off stay put when the price changes, and never take the line below $0.

"Take ten off the nail trim" should be ten dollars, not a percentage you work out in your head.

  1. Open the booking from Appointments and find the line on the Invoice.
  2. In Discount, select % inside the field so it switches to $.
  3. Type the amount to take off the whole line, such as 10.
  4. Under Notify customer?, choose Send notification or Update silently, then select Save Changes.

Switching converts the discount you already have, so 10% off a $75 line becomes $7.50 off. A percentage follows the price if the price changes later; a dollar amount does not. The invoice PDF names the discount on the line, so the client sees what came off.

Check

On a new quick sale, a dollar amount is for a single item, so set the quantity to 1 first.
