Get set up

Pause all client messages while you load appointments

Loading a book with the client switches on sends a confirmation for every appointment you type. Two switches in Settings, Notifications hold them until you are ready.

Before you type the first appointment, turn off the two switches that message the client about every booking.

  1. Open Notifications.
  2. Under Booking Created, switch off Email the customer: booking updates and Text the customer: booking confirmation.
  3. If the book you are loading reaches inside the reminder window, switch off Email the customer: reminders and Text the customer: reminders under Pre-Appointment Reminders as well.
  4. Select Publish Changes, tick the box in Before You Publish, then select Publish Changes.

Email the customer: booking updates is one switch for created, rescheduled, accepted, declined and cancelled, and for receipts and refunds, so two hundred loaded appointments is two hundred emails. Text the customer: booking confirmation sends the SMS for each new booking, and that one also spends credits. Moving a loaded booking afterwards texts the client through Text the customer: booking changes, under Booking Updates, so switch that off too if you will be tidying times. Load the book, check a few bookings on the calendar, then turn all of them back on.

Check

A service with its own copy of a switch keeps sending. Where a switch shows an amber count of services using their own setting, turn the same switch off on each of those services' Notifications tab as well.
