Switching from Savvy Pet Spa

One long Savvy grooming note is split by body region on the way in, and tags, store credit, package credits and membership dates come across with it.

Take your customers and pets out of Savvy and load them into Petboost from Customers & Pets, or hand the whole move to us.

On Savvy Pet Spa, the classic app, an admin login exports from the gear at the top right: open Admin Settings, then the Import Export tab, and export All Customers under Customers and All Pets under Pets. The newer Savvy Pet describes a Customers & Pets report in its help centre, but no way to export it. The classic export gives you two files, and the trap is in the first one. Savvy keeps the grooming notes on the customer rather than on the dog, so a household with two dogs has one long note for both, often broken up by a heading such as COCO NOTES.

  1. Open Customers & Pets, open the gear menu and select Import Customers & Pets.
  2. Select Magic CSV Import.
  3. Add the customers file and the pets file under CSV Files (1-2 files), then select Magic Validate.
  4. Read anything listed under Errors or Skipped, then select Import to Petboost.

The import takes CSV files only, and an owner needs a first name, a phone number and at least one pet, or the row is left out and listed under Errors or Skipped. The Import Your Data step of the Launch wizard leads to the same import through Import Customers & Pets, but only before the first client is in, and not during a trial.

On an assisted migration you can skip the export. We take the book out of your Savvy account ourselves, including the note on each past appointment, which sits on the appointment and in neither file. That one long note is split by dog and then by body region on the way in, so head and face, body and tail, and feet and legs each land in their own field on the pet, with the shorthand written out in full. Each dated line also becomes its own entry on the pet's timeline, with its date written in it, filed under the day of the move.

The flags on a customer, such as a deposit before rebooking, arrive as tags on the owner. Store credit shows on the owner's profile as Account Balance Credit, and package credits stay counted on the package. A membership keeps its next billing date. Cards cannot move, so each member adds theirs in Petboost before that date, or the membership ends. The 24 hours starts when you give us access, usually at the demo, and the switching page lists what moves and what stays behind.

Tip

To hand the move to us instead, select We move it for you in 24 hours at step 2.
