Switching from DaySmart Pet

DaySmart Pet, once 123Pet, keeps a pet record, but no single report lists every client, so the book comes from its backup, and store credit, package credits and membership dates follow.

Take your book out of DaySmart Pet and load it into Petboost from Customers & Pets, or hand the whole move to us.

DaySmart Pet, once 123Pet, exports one report at a time. On the cloud version, open More, then Reports, pick a report and a date range, run it, and choose Export for a CSV. No single report lists every client, though. The All Pets report gives each dog with its breed and its owner's name but no phone, email or address, each vaccination report covers only a slice, grooming notes only come out for dogs with a Groom appointment, and every report counts closed tickets only.

The whole book is in the backup instead. Open More, then Settings, then Support, then Download Backup, and every table comes down as XML, which a spreadsheet will not open as it is. On the desktop version, Tools, then Export to Text File saves each table as its own file. Take it while the account is live, because once it is cancelled, getting your data back means a one-off request from the account owner.

  1. Open Customers & Pets, open the gear menu and select Import Customers & Pets.
  2. Select Magic CSV Import.
  3. Add the CSV files under CSV Files (1-2 files), one of owners and one of pets, then select Magic Validate.
  4. Read anything listed under Errors or Skipped, then select Import to Petboost.

DaySmart Pet keeps a proper pet record, so what the files hold maps across field by field: owners with their contact details, and pets with their breed and, where DaySmart has them, sex, birthday and weight. The pet type in the file is checked against the breed match, so a cat never lands on a dog breed. The import takes CSV files only, and an owner needs a first name, a phone number and at least one pet, or the row is left out and listed under Errors or Skipped. The Import Your Data step of the Launch wizard leads to the same import through Import Customers & Pets, but only before the first client is in, and not during a trial.

On an assisted migration we take the backup from your account ourselves and map it across where we can. Vaccinations and grooming notes go on the pet's timeline with their dates. Store credit lands on the owner's profile as Account Balance Credit, a part-used package keeps its remaining credits, and a membership keeps its next billing date. Cards cannot move, so each member adds theirs in Petboost before that date, or the membership ends. Past tickets and payments stay in DaySmart Pet. The 24 hours starts when you give us access, usually at the demo, and the switching page lists what moves and what stays behind.
