Switching from BusyPaws

The BusyPaws Customers CSV carries very little, so the pet detail is read off the profiles instead, and segments, store credit, package credits and membership dates follow.

Take your customers and pets out of BusyPaws and load them into Petboost from Customers & Pets, or hand the whole move to us.

BusyPaws exports from Reports, then Data Export: choose New Export, pick the export type and a date range, then Export, and the CSV waits on that page as well as arriving by email. Customers and pets are separate exports, and both are thin. A pet comes out with its name, breed, gender and birthday, while weight, desexing, the vet, vaccination expiry and your notes stay on the profile. The bookings export covers completed bookings only, so nothing you export shows what is booked ahead.

  1. Open Customers & Pets, open the gear menu and select Import Customers & Pets.
  2. Select Magic CSV Import.
  3. Add the customers file and the pets file under CSV Files (1-2 files), then select Magic Validate.
  4. Read anything listed under Errors or Skipped, then select Import to Petboost.

The import takes CSV files only, and an owner needs a first name, a phone number and at least one pet, or the row is left out and listed under Errors or Skipped. The Import Your Data step of the Launch wizard leads to the same import through Import Customers & Pets, but only before the first client is in, and not during a trial.

On an assisted migration we read each profile from a BusyPaws login instead, weight, vet, notes, photos and vaccination certificates included. The segments on a pet arrive as attributes where they describe the dog, so Dog Reactive or Very Anxious is something a booking rule can read, and trainer milestones go on the pet's timeline. Dated staff notes keep their author and date.

Store credit lands on the owner's profile as Account Balance Credit, and a part-used package keeps the credits left on it, counting the ones your future bookings were already holding. Memberships keep their next billing date. Cards cannot move, so each member adds theirs in Petboost before that date, or the membership ends. The 24 hours starts when you give us access, usually at the demo, and the switching page lists what moves and what stays behind.

To hand the move to us instead, select We move it for you in 24 hours at step 2.
