Take your book out of Acuity and load it into Petboost from Customers & Pets, or hand the whole move to us.
Acuity has two exports, and a pet business needs both. The client list is under Clients, then Import/export, then Export client list: choose All clients rather than a group, then Export clients. That file carries a name, an email, a phone number and the notes on the client file, and nothing about the dog. The dog's details from your intake form are saved on each appointment instead, so they only come out of the appointment export, under Reports, then Import/Export. Ticking your intake form there also narrows the file to the appointments that carried that form.
Petboost keeps no customer without a pet, so the client list will not load as it is. To load it yourself, add each client's dog in a column headed Pet, with the breed in brackets after the name and a comma between two dogs, and save the file as CSV.
- Open Customers & Pets, open the gear menu and select Import Customers & Pets.
- Select Magic CSV Import.
- Add the file under CSV Files (1-2 files), then select Magic Validate.
- Read anything listed under Errors or Skipped, then select Import to Petboost.
An owner still needs a first name and a phone number, or the row is left out and listed under Errors or Skipped. The Import Your Data step of the Launch wizard leads to the same import through Import Customers & Pets, but only before the first client is in, and not during a trial.
On an assisted migration you can skip both exports. We take the client list and the intake answers from your Acuity account and join them up. Acuity has no pet record at all, so the dog's name usually sits inside the client's own name field, often with the breed typed where the surname should be, and both are pulled apart on the way in. That makes the owner and pet list the first thing to read afterwards. The intake answers then fill in the pet's birthday, sex, desexing, weight and insurer and the owner's vet, and grooming preferences and health notes land on the pet as notes.
Whatever you used as a label comes across as an attribute on the pet, and an attribute can carry extra time or money on a booking. Store credit lands on the owner's profile as Account Balance Credit, a part-used package keeps its remaining credits, and a membership keeps its next billing date. Cards cannot move, so each member adds theirs in Petboost before that date, or the membership ends. The 24 hours starts when you give us access, usually at the demo, and the switching page lists what moves and what stays behind.

To hand the move to us instead, select We move it for you in 24 hours at step 2.
